Welcome to the website for the 2006 WACUHO Annual Conference!  This year’s conference marks a milestone for the Association as we celebrate our beginning as CACUHO (California Association of College and Housing Officers) 50 years ago and our present and future as WACUHO.  This Association was built on the vision of John Yarborough of Stanford University and his initiative and recognition for the advantages of collegiality has led us to the Association we have.  Many of us who have been in CACUHO/WACUHO for a number of years have carried on the ideals set forth many years ago and we hope this conference sets the course for future generations of housing and residence life professionals.

As veteran attendees know, the annual conference is not all about work.  We are a socially active field and traditions not on the horizon 50 years ago are now staples…. how about karaoke night?  As much as professional development is the primary focus of the conference, we look forward to the personal reconnection with colleagues every year.  WACUHO is the people in it!!!

Whether you are new to WACUHO, a new professional, a seasoned professional, coming to revisit, or exhibiting your product, the conference committees welcome you. For those of you who heard Kathy Humphrey speak at the 2005 conference (or even if you weren’t), you just have to remember her words “…I’m there!”.  See you  in April!
