Housing Custodial Services Manager
Manager – Principal housing custodial administrator to provide
leadership and direction for the management of all activities and
programs that support the delivery of custodial services to the
on-campus residential facilities during the academic year, summer
conference season, and summer term where applicable. Incumbent assists
with the development, administration, and effective use of budgets for
assigned labor, supplies, and equipment; supervises staff responsible
for the day-to-day activities of housing custodial services; conducts
site inspections; responsible for employee performance management
activities including evaluations, onboarding professional development,
training and counseling or disciplinary matters; organizes and
facilitates job and safety training for the proper and efficient use
of equipment and materials. As a member of Housing Facilities
Services’ management team and SDSU’s administration, incumbent
works with various constituencies and interacts with directors,
faculty, staff and students to assure quality service is provided to
the university community.

Objectives – A comprehensive and proactive approach to the provision
of custodial service to on-campus residence halls and apartments. A
well organized, smoothly functioning and continuously improving
custodial operation.

Qualifications and Experience
Expectations – Maintains continuing contact with faculty, staff,
students, and administrators to identify needs and expectations,
coordinate services and support, and determine the level of customer
satisfaction with the services provided. Provide a thorough and
accurate accounting of time and materials. Complete routine work
assignments and perform additional duties as assigned. Consistent
meeting of university and Office of Housing Administration needs in a
timely and professional manner with increasingly improved skill.
Follow-up every project or task to ensure that all items are completed
to the satisfaction of the supervisor/manager. Maintain a responsible
attendance record, including punctuality and consistent meeting of
deadlines. Perform work in a manner that supports and facilitates the
work of others in Housing Facilities Services, Housing Administration,
and the University Community. Maintain a positive and cooperative
working relationship with members of department and campus community.

click here. Compensation and Benefits Starting salary upon appointment
not expected to exceed $6,250 per month. CSU Classification Salary
Range: $2,502 – $8,818 per month. Salary placement is determined by
the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to
the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal

Institution/Department Description
This position is in the Management Personnel Plan (Administrator I)
and earns management benefits including medical, dental, vision,
$100,000 life insurance plan, and the CalPERS pension plan. For more

benefits summary. This is a full-time, benefits eligible, at will
position. This position is designated exempt under FLSA and not
eligible for overtime compensation. Standard SDSU work hours are
Monday – Friday8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. but may vary based on
operational needs.
