Assistant Director of Housing and Residential Life – California State University, Sacramento

Assistant Director of Housing and Residential Life position opening at California State University, Sacramento

This is a full time, 12-month, live out position beginning June 1, 2009.

California State University, Sacramento is the seventh largest university in the 23 campus California State University system, with an enrollment of about 28,000 students. The campus is located in the north central valley in close proximity to San Francisco, wine country, Sierra mountains, ski resorts, Lake Tahoe, and Reno.

Under the direction of the Associate Director of Housing and Residential Life, the Assistant Director will assist in the development of a residence community that facilitates student development at both the individual and group levels. Responsibilities include: co-curricular program development and implementation; academic program collaborations and development; policy and procedure implementation and enforcement; coordination and adjudication of student judicial process; counseling; referrals and crisis management/intervention; participation in on-call duty; and general administration. The Assistant Director plays a critical role in providing an on campus living experience which enhances academic, personal, and social development. This position will provide leadership to staff and residents promoting an atmosphere conducive to the development of skills necessary to attain academic achievement, social and cultural maturity and self discipline.

Requirements: Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university required. Masters degree from an accredited college or university preferred. Minimum of three years full-time Student Affairs experience in a residential university program preferred.

Salary Range: $3,834 - $5,462. Generous benefits package (medical, dental, optical), fee waiver up to 6 units.
