  Community Director - Arizona State University (Tempe Campus)


Position Title: Community Director

Institution/Department: Arizona State University (Tempe campus) – Residential Life

Position Description:

The Community Director is a full-time/12-month live-on position providing supervisory, administrative, programmatic, budgetary, and advising leadership to a community of approximately 500-1000 residents. Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

* Direct supervision of 18-28 Community Assistants and possibly 1-3 Assistant Community Directors
* Develop and implement educational and social programming
* Collaborate with a diverse group of students, staff, and faculty to develop communities that foster academic excellence and personal growth
* Assist with selection, hiring, performance management, and training of staff
* Oversee front desk operations
* Counsel and advise students
* Crisis management including on-call/on-duty responsibilities
* Parent/Guardian communication
* Conflict mediation
* Customer service
* Maintain a conducive environment for learning
* Work with Student Life-Judicial Affairs to address Student Code of Conduct and Residential Life policy violations
* Connect students to involvement and leadership opportunities
* Develop and promote inclusive communities
* Assist in the implementation of activities/programs through Residential Colleges or First Year Residential Experience
* Participate in Residential Life and/or University teams and committees
* Develop and maintain internal and external partnerships with a variety of offices
* High visibility and student interaction are hallmarks of the Community Director position

Qualifications:

*Masters Degree in area appropriate to assignment

*6 months of related supervisory experience

Compensation:

The compensation package for the Community Director position includes a competitive salary ($29,000-$32,000), a fully-furnished apartment, a meal plan, professional development funds, and a variety of options in choosing comprehensive health, dental, and additional benefits packages.
