Notes:
A career, full-time position. Schedule of hours is Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional weekend and evening commitments required. Possibility of travel and travel outside of normal business hours.

Essential Functions:
In collaboration with the Assistant Director for Residence Life - Judicial, the Judicial Coordinator will provide programmatic support for the Department of Housing and Residence Life in the area of judicial affairs. Investigate and adjudicate violations of University housing policies by residential students; develop sanctions for students which promote personal/academic development and enhance University standards; serve as case manager for referrals; assist with daily operations and actively participate in outreach activities, programming, and staff/student training. Prepare Cleary Reports and other statistics required for data sharing with University partners and in compliance with state/federal requirements; aid with the coordination of the department's technological applications including website and judicial database; assist with budget planning and forecasting; aid with supervision of Peer Review Board and assist with special projects.

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Sociology, or a related field and several years progressive experience in a related field; or an equivalent combination of college education and experience in a related field.

Prior student conduct experience in a university or college setting.

Experience with query tools to extract data from systems.

Experience with Internet search engines for data gathering purposes.

Skills or experience in counseling, student services, housing, preferably in the college or university setting.

Exceptional analytical skills to discern information relevant to the investigation and resolution of allegations of student misconduct.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Skill to independently compose letters, memos, reports and other written communication materials for a variety of audiences.

Must use correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, composition, text editing, and proofreading skills.

Skill in translating observations, findings, and recommendations from analytical studies into a concise and logical written report.

Strong math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of whole numbers, fractions, and decimals) that relate to general budget knowledge and data gathering.

Excellent organizational and time management skills, demonstrated skill to set priorities, balance a heavy workload, adhere to a schedule and meet deadlines.

Demonstrated skill to work effectively and respectfully with culturally and ethnically diverse students, parents, coworkers, etc.

Demonstrated skill working with individuals and groups with a wide array of identities and life experiences, including gender, disability, class, race/ethnicity, sexuality, culture, and religion.

Skill to communicate and work effectively with all University constituencies in an unbiased, logical, unemotional, reasonable, fair manner.

Demonstrated skill in proficiently using Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, FileMaker Pro, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Outlook, or comparable software for word processing, maintaining databases, creating spreadsheets, and preparing reports.

Skill understanding and interpreting University and departmental policies and procedures.

Demonstrated skill to investigate alleged violations of University policy in a thorough, professional, objective manner.

Conflict resolution, mediation, and problem solving skills to resolve complex, multifaceted, and often emotionally-charged disputes and assist parties to reach agreement.

Administrative skills to oversee documentation, filing, and retrieval of references to large numbers of transactions.

Working knowledge of student development theory, University policies, state/federal law, and law related to student privacy and right to know.

High degree of personal/professional integrity, respect for privacy and confidentiality, a sense of ethics, and a commitment to educating students.

Hired applicant must successfully pass a background check through the Department of Justice.

Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Student Affairs, Counseling, or a related field.

Experience with judicial affairs in a college or university setting.

Experience with Student Information System (SIS), Odyssey, and managing the judicial database system.

Working knowledge and application of Housing General Standards and University Conduct Codes.
