WACUHO New Professionals 2016-2017 Annual Awards

WACUHO’s New Professionals Committee is very excited to introduce once again the New Professionals Annual Awards which provides the colleagues with the opportunity to celebrate an individual for their great work, energy, ideas, and commitment to the field. The New Professionals Annual Conference Award recognizes outstanding achievement and provides encouragement to new professionals (0-3 years professional experience) in the Western Association of College & University Housing Officers (WACUHO).

 

Two awards available for the annual conference, taking place in Sacramento California from April 2-5, 2017. Each award totals $650.00 to assist with the cost of conference registration, travel, and lodging.

 

Additionally, the ACUHO-I Annual New Professionals Award grants $1,000.00 to assist with the cost of conference registration, travel, and lodging. The awards will be received in the form of reimbursement.

 

To be eligible for the awards the nominee must be someone having no more than three years of professional experience. Working in a functional area encompassed by the WACUHO mission and employed by a WACUHO member institution. Does not qualify as a student under the student definition: enrolled full-time in a degree-granting program and employed part-time.

New Professionals Awards Application

Applications and supporting criteria must be received no later than 11:59 PM on Monday, February 20, 2017. The recipient will be selected based upon personal demonstration of what the applicant will be or has been contributing to WACUHO, incorporating WACUHO into their work environment and/or how attending the Annual Conference will help them professionally.

 

*Award recipients must participate as a panelist in the New Professionals Welcome Round table at the Annual Conference, where they will be asked to discuss their experience as a new professional and how they became involved in WACUHO.
